A toast is the small notification card that slides in briefly when something happens. It's how the portal confirms an action, warns you about something, or tells you why a thing didn't work.

The three kinds

• Success (green) — the action worked. "Settings saved." "Trade closed."
• Warning (yellow) — the action didn't fully work, or completed with caveats. "Flatten completed with 1 error."
• Error (red) — the action failed. "Could not save settings — try again."

How long they stay

Toasts disappear on their own after a few seconds. You can also dismiss them by clicking the × on the card, or by simply clicking away — they're not modal, so they never block what you're doing.

When you might miss one

If something is happening in another tab (the portal logging you out, for example) the toast appears in that tab. If you're in a different tab when it fires, you may not see it. The action itself still happens; the toast is just the confirmation.

What if I see a red toast and I'm not sure why?

Most error toasts give a short reason in the message. Common ones:

• Connection lost — the portal couldn't reach the trading service for that one action. Usually fixes itself; try again.
• Permission required — your current plan or role doesn't allow the action.
• Try again in a moment — the system was busy. Retry shortly.

If the same error keeps appearing for the same action, that's a sign something is genuinely wrong rather than a transient hiccup.
