Once a trade is live, you're not stuck with the stop-loss and profit target that were set at entry. You can change either one in place — directly on the trade card — without having to close the trade and reopen it. The same controls show up on the Live Trades page and on the Copy Trade page.
Editing in place
On any active trade the stop-loss and take-profit are shown right on the card — and both are click-to-edit. Click the price you want to change, type the new value, and press Enter (or the ✓ button) to send it. Press Esc (or ✕) to back out. The new bracket is sent to your broker the instant you confirm — you do not have to close and reopen anything.

Check-and-bundle on commit
If you make several changes in a row — for example, nudging the stop-loss and the take-profit on the same trade — the portal bundles them together when you confirm so the broker sees one consistent update instead of two flickers. In practice this means a smoother modification with less risk of one leg of the bracket updating while the other is still in flight.
Example
A trade is running in your favor and you want to lock in some profit and aim higher at the same time. Click Modify SL, enter a tighter stop. Click Modify TP, enter a higher target. Confirm. Both adjustments go out together as one bundled change.
Bracket pickers for spread trades
Spread trades (iron condors and iron butterflies in particular) have two brackets — one for the call side, one for the put side. The portal asks you which bracket you want to modify before showing the input field:
- Modify SL on the call bracket — tighten or loosen just the call side's stop.
- Modify SL on the put bracket — the put side equivalent.
- Same with Modify TP.
For trades with a single bracket (vertical spreads, single-leg trades) the picker is skipped and you go straight to the input.
One row per leg on multi-leg trades
For positions made of more than one independent leg (think two or three long calls at different strikes — a "runner"), each leg gets its own row with its own stop and target. Just click the price on the leg you want to change — there's no dropdown to pick a leg first. To move every leg together, use Set all SL or Set all TP, which apply one price across all legs in a single action.
When to use it
- A trade is up and you want to trail a stop-loss by hand instead of waiting for the automated trailing logic.
- A target is close and you want to push it a little further given the way price is acting.
- News broke and you want to tighten the stop on every open position quickly.
Tip
Modify is a manual lever — it overrides the bracket on that trade only. It does not change the strategy's default profit-target or stop-loss settings. For future trades to use the new numbers, edit the strategy itself on the Strategies page.
Warning
Modify only changes the working prices on a trade that's already open. It is not a substitute for an emergency exit — if a trade is going badly and you want out, use the Close button (or Flatten All for the whole account).
